East Devon District Council is committed to providing training opportunities to help the organisation deliver its services and make sure individuals can reach their full potential.
Training needs should be discussed as part of the Performance Excellence Review process which includes an annual review supported by regular 121s throughout the year.
Service training needs are identified through the service planning process annually. If there are any individual requirements that cannot be met, please contact Karen Jenkins who will source an appropriate training course.
As a council we continue to evolve and adapt. In the next few years we will be moving towards an increasingly flexible and mobile workforce and operating on an increasingly commercial basis. This will bring challenges for both managers and individuals so this training plan has been developed to include programmes which addresses the skills requirements for the council in the coming years.
We know that great managers have a tremendous impact on improving employee engagement that in turn leads to superior performance. We are committed to providing training to make sure that our managers continue to develop high performing individuals and teams.

Once your initial training is complete all future Learning and Development needs should be discussed as part of the Performance Excellence Review process. All training should be agreed with your manager.
