Covid-19 recovery plans go green
As part of EDDC's commitment to respond to the climate emergency, we are seeking to work towards a green recovery from the Covid-19 lockdown.
Although there have been huge challenges and negative impacts of the coronavirus we recognise that some effects have been more positive in relation to the environment:
- increase in walking and cycling
- less transport emissions through reduced commuting
- reduction in paper use through more online working.
As we work towards providing a full service to our residents once more, we will do so with the environment in mind. We will use this challenge as an opportunity to become a greener, more sustainable council in the future - helping us towards our commitment to reduce our carbon footprint.
